Over the sea, far away, there is a Heaven called NIRAIKANAI.

One day in an island in Okinawa, when Huki was very young, Mom left little Huki and went to Tokyo saying she was going back soon.  Being raised by Grandpa, Huki is waiting for Mom’s  return for years and years.  Mom keeps sending birthday letters to Huki every year. Encouraged by the letters, Huki grows up to be a beautiful girl who dreams of seeing Mom again someday.

On Huki's fourteenth birthday, Mom promises to see her again on her twentieth birthday.  Huki starts off her life in Tokyo, hoping she can see Mom again. When the nineteenth birthday comes, she receives a letter  instructing how to see Mom again. A year later...
